- Hello everyone!
-
- After I have read Dougs letter on the music, I say that I totally
- agree. I can say this in the midi department that I will only use
- syntheziser and drummachine sounds. So lets say I put strings on midi
- channel one, then you have to configure your keyboard to have strings
- on midichannel one, then maybe bass on midi channel two etc.
- the reason for this is that then it will be up to the man that has
- the keyboard etc. to choose wich kind of string/bass sound he likes
- best (it is easy to implement a text file with these describtions).
- Okay, maybe some of you say "General Midi", well I do not think
- that everyone that has a keyboard etc. has general midi and I want to
- be so openended as possible. Another thing I thought about is that
- you can have the song as small soundclips that you mix in various
- ways and cath them directly from the hardisk , so that they do not
- depend on the memory, ofcourse that may slow down thing ( I am not
- the programmer). Any way keep up the excellent work Doug and the rest
- of you. About the midi routine I can say that the only thing it will
- do is to shuffle the music data to the mc acia that handles the midi
- ports and it should not take up so much processor time. I will ask my
- friend if he has the capabillities to make that routin, otherwise i
- rembered that it was a guy that mailed to this list and offered his
- services to make a midi file player rout.
- Thanks to Doug and Magnus for the feedback on my nusic
- capabillities... I will try not to heart your ears when I send you my
- midi song converted to mod format so that you can listen to it:-)
- Oh yes, I will keep away from the PSG....
-
- Cheers,
-
